The award-winning singer continues to use his platform to agitate for Mental Health.
Sensational Nigerian singer and songwriter Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has spoken out about battling depression and being suicidal.
The Port Harcourt-bred act who released his 14-track debut album ‘Boy Alone,” which featured heavyweights like Justin Bieber and Tay Iwar in the second half of 2022, has constantly made it known that the project was born out of pain.
In a recent interview, the singer reemphasized the fact that he battled with mental health instabilities at a point in his life that even got to the point where he contemplated committing suicide. According to the singer, being in that dark phase helped him create the proper music for everyone who is in that phase.
Speaking about his style of music being described by many as “Afro-Depression,” the unbothered Omah Lay maintained that Afrobears is too much hype, hence the reason why he chooses to bring depth, soul, and realness to the table with his style.
